My family drawing: life from a little person’s perspective, Aviva’s Tamariki RISE programme
Aviva’s specialist tamariki services are designed to promote wellbeing and help break the inter-generational cycle of violence. During this session the Tamariki Services team introduced Aviva’s Tamariki RISE (Relationship and Individual Safety Education) programme in an interactive session – come along prepared to see life from a ‘little person’s perspective.’
This structured group education and support programme runs for 10 weeks during each school term for tamariki who have experienced or witnessed family violence. The team will present two activities offered to 5-8 year old tamariki in the programme; ‘my family drawing’, which is done in the first session, and safety planning, which is done in week 9 of the programme.
