Next Steps in Generative AI for Social Service Organisations

This two-hour workshop builds on our previous offers Introduction to AI Tools or Using Chat GPT in Social Service Organisations. In response to feedback from past participants, we have developed a workshop that moves beyond the basics of AI to provide further skills and insights into how to use Generative AI effectively and safely in your daily mahi.

Our training will be led by trusted AI training specialists, Mosaic Partners, which has run our previous introductory AI trainings. Mosaic Partners is now headed by Andrew Nicol, a writer, futurist and social entrepreneur who uses his technological expertise to help organisations implement social change for good.

Who is it for?

This workshop is for social service providers who already use Generative AI in their work but want to extend their skills and understanding.

It is best suited to those who have experience in using more advanced prompting techniques with tools such as ChatGPT, MS Copilot, Gemini, or Claude. It is a bonus if you have attended either our Introduction to AI Tools or Using Chat GPT workshops with Mosaic, but this isn’t a requirement. This session aims to move participants from a basic understanding of Generative AI, to using it as an effective tool as part of their daily work.

What will it cover?

This will be a practical, interactive session where you get to safely experiment with Generative AI tools you are already utilising, using real workplace scenarios.

Next Steps focuses on three areas:

  • Personalisation: Making Generative AI more relevant to your role, context and preferred ways of working.
  • Using Your Tools Well: Gaining more confidence and a greater understanding of the tools you already use, such as Copilot (and Chat GPT).
  • Skills and Tools: Creating prompts, skills, and instructions that turn repetitive tasks into more efficient ways of working.

The workshop will cover:

  • recapping the prompt engineering framework
  • responsible and secure Generative AI use, with a focus on privacy and organisation safeguards
  • personalising custom instructions for context and preferences
  • why (safe) experimenting is important and where to start
  • turning repeatable work into reusable instructions
  • building your first Generative AI assets
  • demonstration of a deep dive into using your tools well (ChatGPT, MS Copilot, Gemini, Claude)
