Kai & Kōrero: Learning over lunch

As social wellbeing concerns continue to rise and service waitlists grow, the need for immediate, effective support has never been more urgent. This presentation explores how The Loft Community Wellbeing Services addresses this need through their evidence-based Social Emergency Response Service, providing swift assistance for a range of social crises in one dedicated place. The session will look at the frameworks underpinning their mahi and highlights the need for expansion of this model so that all can benefit from more accessible, immediate interventions.

Kim has worked in NZ’s social service sector for six years. She is a former Humanities lecturer and holds a GradDip in Mental Health Sector Leadership. Kim joined The Loft as it became an independent charity and has helped design its Social Emergency Response Service.

Kate has been part of The Loft for over eight years and is passionate about developing intuitive and innovative ways to support whānau and communities. Her background includes over a decade of experience in HR, finance, management, media, crisis support, and administration, both in the UK and New Zealand.
