Kai & Kōrero: Learning over lunch - Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

Join us for our June Kai & Kōrero: Learning over lunch session from Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren provide specialised advocacy support services and caregiver education programmes to empower grandparent and whānau caregivers so they can raise resilient and healthy tamariki and rangatahi and strengthen their whānau. They are a national service offering support to over 6,000 care families since 2001. In this session they will discuss their mission, specialised services, and answer any questions you may have.

Brad Clark - Chief Executive

Brad’s first foray into the social-profit (charity) sector began at CanTeen, as Marketing Manager, and then GM Marketing and Fundraising. This experience paved the way for his role as Chief Executive of the Starship Foundation. Leading a dedicated team, they raised millions of dollars, enhancing child healthcare capabilities, staff and facilities while supporting families nationwide. Over the last few years, working in various roles with Auckland Museum, Blind Low Vision, and North Harbour Hockey, Brad has found his ideal place here at GRG - an inspiring organisation with a strong legacy of leading legislative change to benefit grandparents and caregivers nationwide.

Christina Howe - Senior Community Advocate

Christina comes to GRG with 7 years experience as a barrister and solicitor practising in criminal, employment, immigration, property, ACC, and family law. She was a founding member of the Family Court Navigator service with the Ministry of Justice leading projects such as Enduring Powers Of Attorney (EPOA) workshops, Family Court Open Days, and extensive community education. Christina’s role is to provide information and support to our members on all things relating to the Family Court and Oranga Tamariki.
